PBSC cleanroom air shower with integrated air handling
    PD-Ai

    Air Shower Integrated AHU PD-Ai

An air shower is a specialised chamber designed to reduce contaminants from people or objects before entering a cleanroom or controlled environment. It is an essential component in cleanroom facilities where maintaining a controlled and sterile environment is critical.

Air showers are commonly used in industries such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, electronics manufacturing, and semiconductor fabrication, where maintaining cleanliness and controlling contamination is essential.

When the shower cycle is started by the operative, the shower controls lock the doors and run the fans to provide the airflow. (Note the shower has a low power usage with a highly efficient fan.)

PBSC’s personnel air shower, also known as an air shower room, air shower safe chamber, cleanroom air shower, and misting shower, comes in two designs:

    • With the integrated Air Handling Unit (AHU) on the top of the shower
    • With a separate AHU that has “Safe Change” filters

Both options remove particles from the operative with high-velocity air jets. The integrated unit is designed to remove non-hazardous particles on entry into a controlled area.

The air shower is the latest design from PBSC which has been continually improved over the years and features either stainless-steel or powder-coated steel construction with interlocked float and toughened glass personnel doors. The shower has the final assembly in place and requires no cranes or special access on-site as the largest piece will fit through a single doorway.

Maximum clear opening — the door design has been refined to provide a maximum clear entry width with the frame finishing flush with the internal panels (straight-through design only).

There are 9 adjustable stainless-steel nozzles on both side walls, 18 nozzles in total.

As the operative enters the shower, the PLC automatically turns on the high-performance 24VDC LED light, which is powered by the PLC (no mains power in the shower cubicle).

The system is available with a range of control panel options. The standard is a Siemens Logo, which can be provided with an Allen Bradley PLC or a Siemens S1200 PLC. The S1200 PLC comes with a touch screen in the shower (or on the PLC cabinet) to show the shower status alarms, which can be seen and cleared from the screen.

    • PLC controlled internal 24VDC LED light
    • High velocity from nozzles
    • Adjustable stainless-steel nozzle, no performance loss with different positions
    • Efficient power use, only 10A, 1Ph required (110 or 230V)

    • PBSC concealed closer system
    • PBSC solid stainless-steel hinge
    • Tinted toughened frameless glass
    • Airflow 1080 m3/hour

    PBSC personnel fogging shower
    PD-F

    Fogging Shower PD-F

PBSC’s Ultrasonic Fogging Shower provides encapsulation or removal of powder from an operative’s suit and is assessed by SafeBridge Consultants Inc.

Also known as a Fog Shower, Mist Shower, Ultrasonic Shower, Personnel Shower, Decontamination Shower, Misting Shower, Personnel Decontamination, Chemical Shower, and a Decon Shower.

The PBSC fogging shower — chemical shower cycle uses 5 to 10-micron water droplets to encapsulate API particles with minimal wetting through the operator’s PPE suit.

Reductions in surface concentrations can be up to 800 times less than the starting contamination levels. Airborne particles around the operative and during de-gowning are also significantly reduced.

The system is available with a range of PLCs, with standard options of a Siemens LOGO PLC (with the option of a remote ‘TDE’ PLC screen if required) or a Rockwell (Allen-Bradley) MLX1100 PLC with PanelView 800 HMI 4” colour touchscreen.
